This policy applies to all websites in the control of Raptor Awards
What information do we collect?
We collect information direct in relation to instructors/assessors, verifiers and others that assist in the development and/ or quality assurance of Raptor Awards courses. For candidates, we collect data both directly and as a third party from our approved centres.
Raptor Awards also administers the International Register of Bird of Prey Providers. For the administration of the IRBPP we hold data about our members. All information provided is treated as confidential and will only be used for the purpose intended and with consent.
The sort of information we hold includes personal data; application forms; CVs; references; action plans. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
What do we use personal information for?
We use data to develop courses, provide quality assurance and to register candidates and issue certificates for successful candidates including replacement certificates where required. We also use your data to keep you informed about our work, including our annual conference, where you have consented for us to do so. For the IRBPP full members, we make their data available to 3rd parties with their consent.
Corrections/Accuracy
We will endeavour to ensure that all personal data held in relation to you is accurate. You must notify Raptor Awards of any changes to information held about you.
The lawful basis
Raptor Awards will process data for the specific and lawful purpose for which it is collected and not further process the data in a manner incompatible with this purpose. We collect and use information where:
• the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes
• processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract
• the data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data for one or more specified purposes
Categories of personal data
We ensure that the reason for which the data is collected is the only reason for which the data is processed. We will ensure that the data is adequate, relevant and not excessive.
Sensitive Personal Data
We do not process any sensitive data.
Disclosure to third parties
We will not sell or license your personal information to any third party. However, we may disclose your personal information:
• to any member of the Raptor Awards network.
Details of transfers to other countries
We will not transfer your personal information to countries outside of the European Economic Area.
Retention period
Raptor Awards only retains data for the length that it is required in order to serve the purpose for which it is needed. In respect of candidate data we need to store data indefinitely so that replacement certificates can be produced or achievements verified.
Data subject’s rights
You have the right to request access to information about you that we hold. You also have the right to:
• object to processing of personal data that is likely to cause, or is causing, damage or distress
• prevent processing for the purpose of direct marketing
• object to decisions being taken by automated means
• in certain circumstances, have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed
You also have the right to request that we transfer your data to another data controller.
If you wish to access your personal data should email admin@raptorawards.co.uk who will endeavour to respond to any such written requests within 40 days.
The right to withdraw consent
Withdrawal of consent shall be without effect to the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
• We make it easy for individuals to withdraw their consent at any time
• We act on withdrawals of consent as soon as we can
• We don’t penalise individuals who wish to withdraw consent.

The right to lodge a complaint

Data stored by Raptor Awards may be kept on secure servers provided by reputable third parties in Europe and other countries around the world.

We will make you aware if we need to collect data for the purpose of statutory or contractual requirements. We will keep this data and use it to enable us to run our business and manage our relationship with you effectively, lawfully and appropriately.

This section applies to anyone accessing Raptor Awards‘ website/s. A cookie is a small file downloaded on to your device when you access a Raptor Awards website.
