Safeguarding Policy

This policy is designed to help protect young people aged 18 or under and vulnerable adults through ensuring that:

  • activities are appropriate to the age, maturity and ability of those participating

  • full information is provided with regards to any activities, locations and those involved

  • parental permission is sought for those participating aged 18 or under

  • appropriate checks and monitoring take place of those that may be dealing with these groups

  • correspondence between instructors and assessors and candidates is monitored

  • where face to face meetings are required, another responsible adult is required to be present in addition to the instructor /assessor

Any allegations will be taken seriously and referred to the relevant authorities including the police, social service and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
